A letter reply by the CEO of J.P. Morgan

A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?
I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here. I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York. My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married? I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit. If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden (?), $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
2) which age group should I target?
3) Why most wives of the riches is only average-looking? I've met a few girls who doesn't have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys
4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)
Ms. Pretty

Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyze your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money": Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.
By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position". If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased". Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy.

And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Good way to elaborate someone about his wants. I think it is not important to get only a person with $500k but it is more important to analyze your value first and then find a person with high moral values

we should not rely on other people we have to work hard and use exceptional skills and tactics to fulfill our wants on the other hand we can assume that this is everyone's nature to have more and more money for him/herself other thing is u can prove yourself best by making wise and appropriate decisions that is where your potential is required and this can lead you to a better results

Its the personal priority of a lady to set a standard of financial status.moreover,the boy who has posted is considering marriage an investment.He is comparing beauty with money which is not logical.Ofcurse, you cant compare apple with oranges!!
means options must be of same nature which are going to be compared.

@Hira i think today only money can keeps the beauty on anyone's face for a long period.
Investment is very risky for life if you do invesment in good things then you will get profit(Mare marrige life achi guzar rahi hi). But if you do in wrong thing you will get loss( Shadi ka bad mare zindagi azab bun gai hi).

hilarious :-)

I think what the investor was trying to point out is that there are other factors than beauty that men look for in their spouses... Not every one appreciates a 'blonde' goof bag :-)

So both men n women(especially) should focus on grooming themselves, looking at the mirror all day and trying to look pretty will help you get a good catch but you will need more than looks to make him/her stay.

In the past, it was a common notion that, women always take interest in well-educated person but in this new age, women always take interest in a wealthier person....

Well this standard is penetrating now in Pakistan as well...so guys be ready for it

@awakening
agree!with your first paragraph!!:)
There are also other areas where you can make improvements inspite of just looking in the mirror.

@burraq
awakeneing post will help you,read it!!

@asim
well,even today many ladies give preference to education.ofcourse,your financial status matters but this is not the first priority of all ladies.
I think more ladies must jump into this discussion so that we can have more views!!

it depends upon you. where do you want to invest. by the time beauty goes............. but money not. setting of priority is a big thing. even you care for your beauty but not remains at the same time if you care of your money by investing some where you get benefit out of it.
(money hai tu honey hai)

this depends on your priorities;
that guy does not want beauty.
the lady prefer 500k
some other guy might prefer pious a girl .
another girl might prefer a muscular man.
another guy prefer that she should be good at cooking.
priorities vary from person to person.
